The Editor, Marjorie Pollard, wrote – ” I saw my first big Net Ball Tournament at Bourneville, when most of the County Teams in the Country were playing. To say that I enjoyed it is like saying that the Mount Blanc is magnificent. I was impressed with these things. The cheery nature of things, the fitness of the players, their alertness, speed of thought, speed of execution, and also their deadly accuracy – not only when shooting, but when engaged in that fundamental of all good ball games – the using of the ball to some advantage. Watching Net Ball is good fun, but playing Net Ball is surely – vitalising!
