Medway Netball League achieved a Marathon Record for playing non-stop competitive netball for 54 hours in 1972.  They broke the previous record by 6 hours.

3,820 goals were scored – averaging nearly 3 goals a minute!

Play started at 11pm on Friday 27th October and finished at 4am on Monday 30th October allowing for the clock being put back an hour at 3am on Sunday 29th.

Play was continuous with no breaks being taken during the games which were played on a rotating basis, one game starting at the finishing whisle of the previous one.  Each team was on court for 18 hours.
