Well before Back to Netball was created, Hertfordshire put together a social programme to encourage mums to get back into Netball. The programme revolved around using sports centres indoors, something almost unheard of back in the 1980s, which had creche facilities and refreshments. The informal nature of the programme was quite a success and ran for a few years. At least two new Netball Clubs were created as a result.
