Some of England Netball’s HLM’s and Members met on a snowy Saturday in February 2012 at England Netball’s offices in Paynes Park, Hitchin. Their mission was to help Sheelagh Redpath identify some of the mountain of photographs spanning more than 50 years held in the boxes at Netball House. Among those attending were Joan Mills HLM and Cathy Hickey from Kent; the Chairman Cheryl Danson OBE HLM, Kendra Slawinski OBE HLM and Jan Burke HLM from Luton; Sheelagh Redpath HLM and Officiating Coordinator at England Netball and Jean Bourne HLM (deceased) from Nottinghamshire.
The day started at 11.00 and finished at 15.00, with a significant amount achieved through not only idenifying people and matches but also recalling the results. What became apparent from this day was the need for England Netball to look seriously at it’s archive.
