Margaret Cassidy, inaugural International Netball’s President

Margaret Cassidy, OBE, HLM, Tyne & Wear Netball – died at the age of 100 in 2014.   Margaret was the inaugural International Netball’s President when the first World Championships were held in Eastbourne in 1963.    She held the volunteer offices of Vice President of England Netball from 1963 – 1969 and then became President from 1969 – 1975 and was awarded the OBE in 1973 for services to netball.  In 2002 she was inducted into the England Netball Hall of Fame.
