In 1901 the Rules stated the start of the game was by a toss-up across a much wider centre circle. Looks like fun!!

Part of the 25th anniversary celebrations  included re-enactments of the game in old fashioned dress. Here, the teams are playing in long skirts to the rules of the game in 1901.
